'The Fisherman' - Captured on expired black-and-white film using my Grandad’s camera, The Fisherman is a quiet, atmospheric landscape shaped by both memory and experimentation. The soft tonal quality created by the aged film adds a sense of nostalgia and unpredictability, giving the image a timeless, almost dreamlike feel.
A winding river draws the viewer’s eye gently through the composition, leading into the distance while small scattered figures add subtle points of interest. At its centre, a solitary figure- the fisherman- grounds the piece, offering a moment of stillness within the vastness of the landscape.
There is a calm rhythm to this photograph, where movement and stillness coexist. It’s a piece about observation, space, and quiet presence.
This is an original photographic print (A2), produced on lustre finish paper and presented with a black-and-white double mount. It is housed in a hand-restored, hand-painted vintage frame, adding depth and character to the final piece.
