The idea behind
'The Pretty House Project'
Because a house is so much more than bricks and mortar.
Our homes become the backdrop to some of life's biggest moments. They can be where families grow, where first chapters begin, or simply somewhere that has come to mean an enormous amount to us.
The Pretty House Project was created to capture those places through original artwork.
Whether you're celebrating the keys to your first home, settling into somewhere new, saying goodbye to a property you've loved for years, or looking for an incredibly personal gift, your house can be transformed into a bespoke hand-painted portrait created especially for you.

How your portrait is created
YOUR HOME, PAINTED FOR YOU
Each Pretty House Project portrait is individually designed and hand-painted by Matilda.
I work primarily from photographs, meaning your property can be located anywhere in the UK. Alongside capturing the architecture itself, your painting can be personalised to include the little details that make the property yours - from particular plants and landscaping to meaningful features and other subtle additions.
Before painting begins, I'll work with you to establish the size, composition, level of detail and any personal elements you'd like included.

The Pretty House Project is designed to create meaningful partnerships between The Lost Art and estate agencies, offering buyers and sellers the opportunity to turn a significant property into a completely bespoke, hand-painted piece of artwork.
Whether celebrating the purchase of a new home or preserving the memory of one being left behind, the project gives agencies an additional, personal service to introduce to clients at an important point in their property journey.

Referrals & Commission
The Pretty House Project can operate as a simple referral partnership, with no upfront financial commitment required from the estate agency.
Bespoke, co-branded materials can be provided for your agency to introduce the service to buyers and sellers. Interested clients can then enquire directly with The Lost Art, where their individual commission, artwork requirements and payment are handled personally by Matilda.
Successful commissions generated through your agency can be tracked through a dedicated referral system, allowing an agreed commission to be paid back to the referring agency.
This creates an opportunity to generate additional income while offering clients something distinctive and memorable alongside your existing service.

Co - Branded Materials
The Pretty House Project can be incorporated naturally into your existing client journey through bespoke materials designed specifically for your agency.
From “Welcome to Your New Home” cards for buyers to “A Home Worth Remembering” cards for sellers, materials can be co-branded with your agency and The Pretty House Project and include dedicated QR codes or referral details.
These could be included alongside keys, completion packs or other client materials, providing a simple and thoughtful way to introduce the service without disrupting your existing process.

Bespoke Completion Gifts
House portraits can also be commissioned directly by an estate agency as a premium completion or moving gift.
Rather than referring the client, your agency can arrange a bespoke portrait of their property on their behalf - creating a particularly personal way to celebrate a successful purchase, sale or significant client relationship.
Each piece is individually designed and hand-painted, with options available for different sizes, levels of detail and framing.

Social Media & Online Promotion
The collaboration doesn't have to end with the commission itself.
The Lost Art is actively promoted through regular social media and online content, and The Pretty House Project creates opportunities to showcase both the artwork and the agencies connected to it.
Where appropriate and with permission, completed house portraits can become collaborative content - tagging and crediting the referring agency, showcasing beautiful properties and creating additional exposure across social media.
Participating collaborations can also be featured through The Pretty House Project online, creating another opportunity for genuine mutual promotion between independent businesses.

Meet The Artist
The Pretty House Project was created by Matilda Harrison, the artist behind The Lost Art.
Based in the Cotswolds, Matilda creates original paintings, fine art prints and bespoke commissions, with architectural artwork forming an important part of her practice.
